South San Antonio ISD Coach Gathers Over $2200 in School Supplies in the H-E-B 90-Second School Supply Shopping Spree
Local grocery giant, H-E-B, notified South San Antonio ISD that the district was selected to participate in their 90-second School Supply Shopping Spree.
Although several wonderful and deserving teachers were in the running, district administrators selected Ms. Theresa Camarillo, Armstrong Elementary P.E. Coach, for the event which occurred at the H-E-B Plus on Zarzamora.
“I’m a little nervous, but I’m excited and I am ready for this event,” Camarillo stated before the spree began. “I’m glad I get the opportunity to support our students.”
After an explanation of the rules and a 10-second countdown, Camarillo ran through the aisles, dashing to get as much school supplies as she could for her campus in her cart.
Armstrong students watched a livestream back at school that was provided by librarian Amber Grey, who followed right behind to capture all the action.
The store remained open as normal while the spree occurred, and several onlookers cheered Camarillo on as she collected her items.
After time was up, they headed to the checkout station and tallied up the spree. In total, Camarillo managed to score $2263.55 worth of supplies for Armstrong Elementary students, graciously donated by H-E-B.
South San Antonio ISD would like to thank H-E-B for the invitation to the event and the donation to keep our students successful and productive in the classroom this school year.
