The South San Antonio Independent School District has hired Tony Kingman as Chief Financial Officer. The announcement was made Wednesday during a special called meeting of the Board of Trustees.
Kingman has been the director of Finance and Business at the Midland Independent School District for almost three and a half years. He has two Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Management and Finance from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, as well as a Master’s Degree in Finance from Texas A&M University in Commerce.
“I’m committed to do what it takes to create a strong, focused, professional and competent culture in the South San Antonio ISD financial department,” Kingman said.
He also completed Financial Services University Credit Training for two months at Frost Bank in San Antonio before joining their team for more than two years. Kingman says he is ready for this new chapter with his wife and two children, Cecelia, 6 years old and son David, 2.
“I did a lot of research about South San ISD and I think it is a perfect fit,” Kingman said. “I love the culture and the history of the people in South San Antonio.”
His first day at South San ISD is July 1. He and his family are preparing for life in the Alamo City.
“We are selling our house right now and I’m looking forward to buying a new home close to the district,” Kingman said.
