Optional Mask Wearing Begins June 5th

Effective June 5th, mask wearing at South San Antonio ISD campus and administrative
facilities will be optional.

As a result of Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s May 18th Executive Order, governmental entities like South San ISD can no longer have mask mandates in place. The District will still continue to follow all CDC safety protocols including wearing a mask when appropriate, social distancing protocols, hand-washing, enhanced cleaning, and disinfecting procedures.

The District has also been very proactive in providing COVID testing and vaccinations to employees and students.

We are proud of our multi-layered approach to safety” explained Superintendent Dr. Marc
Puig. ““We have followed rigid safety protocols during this challenging time and we want all
visitors to feel confident and secure in visiting South San ISD Facilities.”
