Local News Station recognizes Madla Elementary School Teachers as "Outstanding Educators"
News 4 San Antonio’s Cleto Rodriguez, spent the morning at Madla Elementary School for his segment “Where’s Cleto?” He recognized several teachers for being outstanding educators.
The teachers were nominated by Jennifer Chavez, a parent to two Madla Elementary School students. Mrs. Chavez chose a fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Amanda Galloway after she saw a noticeable improvement in her daughter’s grades.” “We moved from Dallas, and right away I saw the difference. In the first nine weeks of this school year, my daughter came home with A’s and “B’s.”
Fifth-grade teacher Ms. Priscilla Navajiro was also nominated by Mrs. Chavez for helping her son make major improvements in his grades. "She's amazing," said Mrs. Chavez.
Mrs. Chavez also nominated music teacher, Mr. Juan Olivarez, and second-grade teacher, Ms. Melissa Villarreal, as outstanding teachers. Mr. Chavez says both teachers are hardworking and make learning fun.
Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Elizabeth Scott, was also recognized this morning for her outstanding work in the classroom. Madla Elementary School Principal Joann Buchanan describes Ms. Scott as “exceptional.” “She goes above and beyond. She is a true educator.” Ms. Scott is this year’s Madla Elementary School Teacher of the Year.
Cleto interviewed teachers and students during live morning show segments and rewarded the teachers with gift certificates.
