South San ISD Announces District Winner of Christmas Card Contest

The South San Antonio Independent School District on Thursday announced the winner of the 2nd Annual Christmas Card Contest. The competition features creative student artwork and their vision of the holidays.


Students from all 13 South San ISD schools had the opportunity to participate in the competition. Each school selected a winner to represent the campus.  A panel of judges from central administration then voted in early December and chose one district-wide winner. 


A creation by Kingsley Onyema, a student at Shepard Middle School, was selected as the winning design for South San Antonio ISD’s Christmas card. The card will be reproduced and sent out during the holiday season.

This year’s individual campus winners include:

Yamileth Ramos – Five Palms Elementary School

Kingsley Onyema – Shepard Middle School

Leilana Quiroga – Madla Elementary School

Julissa Trevino – Palo Alto Elementary School

Ashley Vasquez – Price Elementary School

Nicole Lozano – Carrillo Elementary School

Sara Ybarra – Hutchins Elementary School

Lagstin Gonzalez – Benavidez Elementary School
