The fifth annual South San ISD “Meet the Bobcats” night kicked off in high gear with plenty of school spirit. Students, parents, school staff and community members filled the stands at Bobcat Stadium Wednesday night as members of the high school sports teams and clubs were presented on the field.
“The vision behind this pep rally is for each student who puts on the blue and white to know they are important,” said Head Football Coach Ron Kretz.
From the soccer team to the robotics club, students walked the field for a quick photo opportunity and applause from fans.
The event is an opportunity for the community and parents to become aware of the various extra-curricular activities offered at the high school. It also provides them with a chance to support the students.
“It’s a great event because it brings the community together and builds camaraderie,” said Lillyana “Mamarazzii” Rivera- Carpio, a parent and alumnus of South San High School. Rivera- Carpio is also known around the district for taking photos at events.
“Meet the Bobcats” prepped the fans to cheer on the varsity football team for the season opener of South San vs McCollum at Bobcat Stadium.
