Mystery Basket at CIA
The South San Antonio HS Culinary students competed in their first intense and high-level competition at the Culinary Institute of America earlier this month and took second place. All five students were awarded medals, $1k scholarships, and CIA award bags with books and culinary tools. The competition involved the students receiving a “mystery basket” of ingredients from which to make a three-course meal. Congratulations to Lizeth Perez, Victoria Fuentes, Sarah Gibbs, Gerald Castellano, and Johnathan Solis for their performance in the competition. The SSAHS Culinary program is under the direction of Chef Robert Yoas.
