I was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin.  I am married to Han Olmstead, we have two children, Marika and Walter and a new grandson Jonah.  I graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1978 with a double major in Sociology and African American Studies.  I was an Army Medical Service Corps Officer, and retired in 1994.  I have been teaching at South San since the 1997-1998 School year.  I currently teach Government and Economics, regular classes and Dual Credit.  I also teach a Military History Elective.  We will be on a block schedule this year.  Students will alternate class schedules every other day, 90 minute class periods.  This will be a challenge and learning opportunity for both teachers and students.
