Dr. David C. Villalobos

Hello Cougar Family.  My name is Dr. David Villalobos and I am the Math / Science Instructional Math Coach.  This is my 20th year in education.  I taught high school math for fifteen years (9 years at Austin ISD and 6 years at Edgewood ISD).  The past four years I have been a District Math Specialist (1 year) and an Instructional Coach (3 years) in Edgewood ISD.

I look forward to supporting teachers and students at West Campus High School in the South San ISD Community. I have supported math teachers from 6th grade Math to AP Calculus and AP Statistics including the OnRamps Program.  I recently earned my Ph.D in Leadership and Policy Studies from UTSA.

My teaching philosophy has always been that all students can learn mathematics.  I believe with accommodations and differentiated teaching styles that all students can learn any type of math.  Patience, I strongly believe, is a key trait to teach mathematics to those who need extra time to learn.  Promoting rigor and creating challenge situations keep the gifted students eager to learn more.

I have two kids: Aydan (9) and Leryssa (8) and have been married for four years.  My hobbies include: taking long walks, going to the bookstore and having family game nights.  Feel free to contact me if you have questions.  Thank you and Go Coogs!
