Educational Enhancement for the Field of Deaf Education
This page contains links to about a hundred basic ASL signs that are frequently used between parents and their young children. Remember, there is much more to learning American Sign Language than just memorizing signs. ASL has its own grammar, culture, history, terminology and other important aspects. It takes time and effort to become a "skilled language user." But you have to start somewhere if you are going to get anywhere--so dive in and enjoy.
Here you will find PowerPoint projects, etc. which can be viewed and used by site visitors. Presenters/lecturers often need ideas and the Virtual Library is a great place to start! We believe this page will be especially helpful to new faculty who need content ideas to discuss in their class. Items are organized by topic/subject matter. At the beginning of each resource file, information is provided regarding the author(s) of the project and who to contact for permission to use it.
Here are resources that we've gathered to share with you. Links are on this page. (See large movie that will play on the iPhone)
