About the District
The South San Antonio Independent School District opened its doors to students in 1922 and was housed in a single building on Fleming Street. This year marks the district's 100th year anniversary of service to the SSAISD community!
The district comprises approximately 21 square miles in the South and Southwest portion of San Antonio. We proudly offer 16 schools to students, including 10 elementary, four middle, and two high schools.
The middle schools feature choice academies, while the high schools offer early college, dual credit, a health science academy, as well as 20 career and technical education opportunities.
SSAISD is also proud to offer open enrollment to all Bexar County students.
Thank you for choosing South San Antonio ISD.
