About me: I'm a native of San Antonio and graduated from W.H. Taft high school in 1996. I've been teaching at South San since 2007, but my teaching experience began in 1997 when I became a fencing coach, down the road, at Palo Alto College. After graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2001, I moved to Japan where I taught ESL to elementary and middle school students. Upon my return home to the United States, I was accepted at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I studied Rhetoric on a full tuition waiver with a teaching stipend. At the University of Illinois, while earning my Master's degree, I was a lead instructor for three courses (ten sections) in writing and speaking.
Since becoming a Bobcat, I have continued my college teaching. I've taught several courses in the Speech Communication department at Northwest Vista College (Go Wildcats!).
In my "spare time", you can find me working out at the gym, reading for pleasure, traveling, starting a home renovation project, or spending time with my friends and loved ones.
I am the proud "new" parent to two wonderful Weimaraners! Parker and Phoebe are from the same litter and were born on February 8th. They make me laugh every day and I do my best to show my gratitude by taking them to the dog park, hikes all over town, and Petsmart (their favorite place in the world).
Below, I have included my two favorite "teacher songs" that I listen to often.
